This post was published back on July 18, 2016 and may be outdated. Please use caution when following older tutorials or using older code. After reading be sure to check for newer procedures or updates to code.

It’s been a while but I’m back with some news. Work has been getting crazier and crazier recently. I’m honestly not complaining, but it leaves me with little time to create tutorials as it takes a lot longer than you might think to create & test the code, create a demo (if possible) and then write out a whole blog post explaining the code in the most ELI5 way possible.

What’s Happening?

I am going to be making some changes in the next month or so. There will be a new home page to the website. I’m going to be offering WordPress maintenance services with lots of features for a reasonable price. That service will be heavily featured on the home page. If you have previously worked with me for coding services please don’t worry. I will still be offering my coding services to my previous clients and will be also taking new clients.

What About Tutorials?

There are changes coming to the blog too. I will be changing the blog slightly in it’s content. Instead of just concentrating on tutorials, which can take a long time to produce, I will also be writing news posts (like this one), thoughts/ideas/tips on various web development subjects. The idea is that I would like to be able to produce more content for the blog. Hopefully including these types of posts will allow that as they don’t require as much time to produce as writing tutorials.

When Will This Be Happening?

The blog changes will likely be happening immediately. The home page change will be happening in the next 2 to 3 month. My *WordPress Maintenance services are available now I will have a page up soon explaining more but for now please get in touch if you are interested and I will respond within 24 to 48 hours.

The Site Was Offline, Were You Hacked?

No. That was an a small error caused by a problem with the configuration of my SSL certificate. It is supposed to auto-renew but I made a typo in the command to restart the web server & hadn’t realised. The certificate was updated fine, but the server was still acting as if the old one was loaded due to the failure to restart. TL;DR make sure your web server restart command in your crontab is correct before you leave the server alone.

* Note: I will look after your WordPress website but not your hosting server. That is for your host to do.
